LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The 12th-ranked Louisville men's soccer team plays its third straight ranked opponent and the fourth ranked foe in the first six matches of the season when the Cardinals challenge No. 7 Syracuse on Friday at 7 p.m., ET at SU Soccer Stadium. The match will be televised on ACC Network Extra, while live scoring is available at GoCards.com.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville enters Friday's match at 3-1-1 after last Saturday's 3-1 loss to No. 2 Wake Forest. The Cardinals have a 3-1-1 mark in their first five matches for the fourth straight season. They will play Friday's match without senior defender Tim Kubel, who was issued his first collegiate red card in the first half of the loss to the Demon Deacons. Kubel and Adrien Cabon have two goals each for Louisville this season, while Cody Cochran, Tate Schmitt and Mohamed Thiaw also have goals for the Cardinals.
ABOUT THE ORANGE
Syracuse opened ACC action with a 2-2 draw at Virginia last Friday night. The Orange have a 4-0-2 record on the season following Tuesday's 3-2 victory against Oregon State. Guided by head coach Ian McIntyre, Syracuse was 12-4-4 last season, including a 3-2-3 mark in the ACC, before ending its season with a loss at North Carolina in the third round of the NCAA Championship.
