Tarver arrives in Louisville after serving three seasons as an assistant coach at Centre College
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's soccer head coach Ken Lolla announced Wednesday the addition of Robbe Tarver as a volunteer assistant coach with the Cardinals. Tarver replaces Luis Pacheco, a volunteer assistant at Louisville in 2016 who has accepted a coaching position in Sporting Kansas City's academy program.
Tarver joins the Cardinals after serving each of the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. During his tenure at Centre, Tarver helped the Colonels capture their first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament Championship and the program's sixth conference championship crown overall in 2016. A 2014 graduate from Centre, Tarver will assist with scouting opponents and the daily operation of training sessions at UofL.
Pacheco, who played for the Cardinals from 2007-11, will serve as the U13 head coach for Sporting KC during the 2017-18 season. As a player, Pacheco was a member of Louisville's 2010 team, which advanced to the College Cup and closed the season as the national runner-up.
The Louisville men's soccer team will begin the 2017 season with the fifth annual Kickoff Banquet on Aug. 11 at the Brown and Williamson Club at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The Cardinals start their three-match preseason slate against Lipscomb on Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m., ET at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium, while the regular season opener versus UC Irvine is set for Friday, Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m., ET at Lynn Stadium.
