Mariana Humberg Named to ACC All-Academic Squad

University of Louisville junior Mariana Humberg was named to the All-ACC Academic team for the first time. Humberg led the Cards in both singles and doubles with a 16-7 mark in singles and going 15-7 in doubles.

For the second year in a row, North Carolina's Hayley Carter has been recognized as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year and headlines the All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the conference office.

The senior is the only women's tennis player in ACC history to be named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year, ACC Player of the Year and Tournament Most Valuable Player back-to-back years. She is also the ACC record-holder with 168 career singles-victories.

The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
