
Schedule Change: Saturday's Softball Game Moved to a Doubleheader Sunday at 12 p.m.

Due to rain in the forecast, Cards and Seminoles will now play a doubleheader Sunday at 12 p.m.
Due to inclement weather in the forecast, Saturday's softball game between the University of Louisville and No. 2/3 Florida State has been moved to Sunday. The teams will now play a doubleheader Sunday with game one starting at 12 p.m. and game two following 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Admission is free.
Sunday's 12 p.m. game and Monday's 7 p.m. matchup will be shown on ESPNU with Jenn Hildreth called play-by-play and Danielle Lawrie providing analysis. The second half of Sunday's doubleheader will air on the ACC Network Extra.

• Louisville brings a 26-14 record into the weekend after splitting a pair of midweek games. The Cards fell 4-1 to Lipscomb Tuesday, but rebounded to beat Western Kentucky 1-0 behind sophomore Megan Hensley's one-hitter.
• Junior Nicole Pufahl leads the team with a .383 batting average, seven home runs, 37 RBIs and 29 runs. The centerfielder also paces the Cards in multi-hit games (13) and multi-RBI games (10) and has reached via a walk or hit in the last 14 games.
• Louisville has four players in the starting lineup batting over .300 on the season.
• Senior Maryssa Becker (19-8) paces the Cards in the circle with a 2.23 ERA and 143 strikeouts in 175.2 innings of work and is holding opponents to a .248 batting average. Her 19 wins match last year's total and equal her career high for wins in a season.
• Senior Jordan McNary has reached base via a hit, a walk in 23 of her last 25 games and is a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen bases.
• UofL is currently third in ACC standings with a 9-4 league record. No. 1/2 Florida State (39-3-1, 18-0) stands first in the league with North Carolina (35-11, 13-5) in second.
• Sandy Pearsall is in her 18th season as UofL's head coach. After building the program from scratch in 2000, Pearsall has guided the Cardinals to six conference championships. Megan Hensley tossed a two-hit complete game shutout to lead the Cards to a 4-0 win over No. 5/5 Florida State in game one of an ACC series.
• Hensley struck out one and did not issue a walk en route to her third shutout of the season. Maryssa Becker went 2-for-4 with a home run while Sidney Melton finished the game with a hit and two RBIs.
Florida State 9 - Louisville 0
• Jessica Burroughs took the loss after giving up four earned runs on nine hits and striking out five in seven innings. Jessica Warren and Sydney Broderick each had a hit for the Seminoles.
• Becker took the loss after giving up nine runs, eight earned, on nine hits in four innings. McNary, Becker and Meyer each registered a hit for the Cards.
• Meghan King got the complete game shutout with four strikeouts in five innings. Cooper was 3 for 3 with three runs while Warren went 2 for 3 with three RBIs to pace the Seminoles offensively.

• After the teams split Saturday's doubleheader, Sunday's rubber-game featured four lead changes and a tie as Louisville outhit Florida State 11-7 and each team left eight runners on base.
• Becker took the loss after giving up four runs, three earned, on seven hits and striking out four in 4.1 innings. Hensley issued two walks, but did not give up a hit or a run in 1.2 innings of relief. Smith, Jordan, Sims, Meyer and Melton each had two hits on the day for the Cards.
• Jessica Burroughs (24-5) got the win, allowing one earned run on five hits and striking out three in three innings of relief. Powers was 2 for 2 with a run and an RBI while Broderick finished the game with two RBIs to pace Florida State offensively.
Scouting the Seminoles: Florida State enters the weekend with a 41-3-1 overall record. They are currently on top of the ACC standings with a 18-0 conference record.
• The No. 2 Seminoles took both games of a doubleheader over Troy Tuesday night with scores of 9-3 and 2-0. They also split two weekend games at South Carolina over the weekend. The Gamecocks upset the Seminoles 1-0 in game one, but FSU took game two by a score of 3-1.
• The Seminoles are led offensively by Morgan Klaevemann who carries a .448 batting average and a team-best 60 hits. She also leads the ACC with 32 stolen bases. Jessica Warren follows with a .446 batting average and leads the team with 55 RBIs, 48 runs scored and 15 home runs.
• Jessica Burroughs (21-2) leads Florida State in the circle with an ACC-best 0.85 ERA and 197 strikeouts in 131.1 innings and has logged three saves. Meghan King follows with a 19-1 record and a 1.62 ERA. She has tallied 117.0 innings and added 80 strikeouts and one save.

Sophomore Megan Hensley tossed a complete game one-hit shutout and drove in the only run of the game to lift the University of Louisville softball team to a 1-0 win over visiting Western Kentucky Wednesday evening at Ulmer Stadium.
• Hensley (7-6) struck out three and walked two in her first complete game shutout of the season. After giving up a single to Adarian Gray in the fourth, the sophomore retired the final 11 batters she faced to get the win.
• Offensively, the Cardinals collected five hits. In addition to Hensley's RBI single, Becker went 1-for-1 while seniors Jordan McNary and Tiarra Sanabria each had a hit.
Lipscomb 4 - Louisville 1
A three-run eighth inning lifted Lipscomb to a 4-1 win over the University of Louisville softball team Tuesday evening at Ulmer Stadium.
• Lipscomb's Mandy Jordan held the Cards in check, allowing one earned run on three hits and striking out five while retiring the final 13 batters she faced in the game. Plocheck paced the Bisons offensively with a 3-for-4, one run, one RBI performance at the plate.
• Maryssa Becker took the loss, allowing four earned runs on eight hits and striking out six in eight innings. After giving up a home run in the second, the senior retired 13 straight batters before allowing a double in the sixth. Becker, senior Jordan McNary and junior Jamie Soles each had a hit.

In game one of the doubleheader, junior Jenna Jordan went 4-for-4 with two RBIs, junior Nicole Pufahl scored three runs and senior Maryssa Becker drove in three to help the Cardinals beat the Hokies 13-6.

•Becker earned the win, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits and striking out seven in five innings. Hensley surrendered one earned run on one hits in two innings of relief.

• Before suffering a season-ending injury in the Feb. 25 game against California, junior shortstop Sidney Melton carried a .364 batting average.

Caitlin Ferguson stepped into the role of Louisville's starting shortstop and leadoff hitter following junior Sidney Melton's season-ending injury in late February. Since that time, the freshman has settled into the role and is one of the top hitters on the team with a .296 average, eight doubles, 17 runs and 20 RBIs. She is second on the team with six multi-RBI games and stands fifth with nine multi-hit performances.

Junior centerfielder Nicole Pufahl leads the Cardinals in most offensive categories while in the midst of a career-best season. The three-year starter carries a .383 batting average and a .650 slugging percentage with seven home runs, eight doubles, 37 RBIs and 29 runs. She also has tallied a team-best 13 multi-hit performances and and 10 multi-RBI games.

Becker Ties School Record with Twelfth Career Save
On March 18, Maryssa Becker entered the game in relief in the seventh inning during game two of Louisville's ACC series with Pitt. The Cards were leading 5-1, but the Panthers had the bases loaded with no outs in the inning with the tying run at the plate. After surrendering a run on a groundout, Becker proceeded to strike out the next two batters to pick up her school-record tying 12th career save.
• Becker is currently tied with Chelsea Leonard (2010-12) and Catherine Bishop (2004-07) and needs one more save to own the record outright.

In the Cards' 13-2 win over CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 10, Maryssa Becker connected on an RBI single, a three-run homer and a grand slam, producing eight RBIs and setting a school record. She surpassed the previous record (7) held by Katie Keller (twice in 2013) and Melissa Jacobo (2002).

Becker Earns 50th Career Win, Notches 600th Strikeout
On Feb. 12, senior Maryssa Becker tossed a two-hit, complete game shutout to help the Cardinals to a 1-0 win over Indiana State. The victory marked the 50th of Becker's career and moved her to sixth on Louisville's all-time list. She currently has 66 wins and needs one more to move into a tie for fifth along with Jessica Rak (2000-03). Kristen Wadwell (2007-10) owns the record with 94 victories.
• In the April 15 game against Virginia Tech, Becker fanned seven batters and in doing so, notched her 600th career strikeout. She now stands third on the school's list for career Ks and needs 16 more to move into a tie for second with Catherine Bishop (2004-07). Kristen Wadwell (2007-10) holds the all-time record with 696.Â

Two of Louisville's top offensive threats also double as the Cards' Nos. 1 and 2 pitchers. Senior Maryssa Becker is second on the team with four home runs and is tied for second (with Hensley) with 23 RBIs. Sophomore Megan Hensley has a team-best nine doubles and two homers and has 23 RBIs.
• In the circle, Becker (19-8) carries a 2.23 ERA with 143 strikeouts in 175.2 innings of work and is holding opponents to a .248 batting average with four shutouts on the season, while Hensley (7-6) has a 2.75 ERA and 44Ks in 81.1 innings.
• Listed below are their accomplishments in 2016.Â
     • Becker led the team with 16 multi-RBI games and 15 multi-hit games. Hensley was right behind her with 14 and 15 respectively.
     • The two combined for 23 of Louisville's 37 home runs and 112 of its 281 RBIs.
     • Becker was a 2016 All-ACC first team selection while Hensley earned second team honors.
     • Hensley earned NFCA All-Southeast Region third team honors.
