The Cardinals play the first of two straight road games against the Chanticleers
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville lacrosse team will play the first of two straight road games at Coastal Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cardinals (7-2, 1-1) are coming off an 11-8 victory over No. 13 Duke on Saturday. The win is the first in the series for the Cardinals. Senior Hannah Koloski and sophomore Meghan Siverson led the Cardinals with four goals each. Junior keeper Brittany Read finished with 10 saves, including seven during the second half to secure the win.
Siverson (32g, 3a) has 35 points and Koloski (33g, 1a) has 34 points through nine games, Koloski ranks sixth nationally in goals scored while Siverson ranks 10th. Siverson ranks 10th nationally, averaging 6.11 draw controls per game. Brittany Read has 99 saves on the season to rank second nationally and a .556 save percentage to rank eighth nationally, while only allowing 8.58 goals per game.
Coastal Carolina enters the game with an overall record of 3-1. The Chanticleers dropped their first game of the season to Vanderbilt 11-7. Haley Alexander led the Chanitcleers with three goals.
Sophie Crowther leads Coastal Carolina with 11 goals and five assists for 16 points. Keri White is second on the team with 10 goals and two assists for 12 points. Haley Barrett has played in four games and started in two in goal for the Chanticleers. Barrett has an 8.34 goals against average and 31 saves on the season.
