Baseball to Host Red-White Scrimmage Friday Night

First pitch for Red-White scrimmage set for 5 p.m., ET; Cardinals also set to scrimmage Saturday (noon) and Sunday (noon)
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville baseball team will open its final weekend of preseason work with a Red-White scrimmage on Friday at 5 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m., ET for batting practice and admission is free for the scrimmage.
The weekend scrimmage schedule for the Cardinals will continue on Saturday at noon ET before concluding their preseason work on Sunday at noon. Batting practice is slated to begin at approximately 10:45 a.m., ET both Saturday and Sunday.
The No. 6 Cardinals will open the 2017 season on Feb. 17-19 in Clearwater, Florida with a trio of games at Spectrum Field, the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies. Louisville will face Alabama State on Friday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m., ET, No. 22 Maryland on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m., and Ball State on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. The 2017 home-opener for the Cardinals is set for Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium against Eastern Kentucky.
