
Women’s Golf Rises to No. 23 in National Rankings

The Cardinals finished their fall campaign with consecutive team titles.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team capped its fall campaign with consecutive team titles, lifting the program to its highest ranking in more than two years.
Louisville jumped to No. 23 in the latest Golfstat.com rankings. It is the Cardinals' highest mark since appearing at No. 19 in the first poll of the 2015-16 season.
The Cardinals completed their five-event schedule in the fall, with victories at the Cardinal Cup and Ladies Fall Intercollegiate Invitational and two additional top-five finishes. It is the first back-to-back team titles for Cardinals since 2014-15.
Statistically, Louisville has been equally as impressive. The team's scoring lineup boasts a 3-over-par 291.36 average, which is currently the best clip in school history. Individually, the Cardinals have combined to shoot 27 rounds even or below par and amassed seven top-10 finishes.
Lauren Hartlage, who earned her first collegiate victory at the Cardinal Cup, is pacing the team with a 71.57 scoring average. She has shot even or below par in 10 of 12 rounds this season and ranks No. 32 in the Golfstat Cup standings.
Molly Skapik, who is tied with Hartlage with three top-10 showings, is carrying a 72.79 average. She has eight rounds even or below par. Olivia Cason boasts the third-best average at 74.57.
Louisville returns to action in the spring, when it plays Kentucky in a dual match for the fourth annual Battle of the Bluegrass State in January.
