Women's Tennis Has Eight Wins in First Day at ITA Ohio Valley Regional

In the first day of competition at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, the University of Louisville's women's tennis team picked up eight wins on the campus of Middle Tennessee University..

In the Main Draw Singles, Abbie Pahz beat Laura Bente of Memphis 6-1, 6-3. Tiffany Huber advanced with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Joey Cao of Memphis. Ariana Rodriguez rolled over Lena Babunski of Miami 6-1, 6-0-. Mariana Humberg advanced on a bye. Maya Smith fell 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 to Bogdana Zaporozhets of UT-Chattanooga.

In the Main Draw Doubles, Ariana Rodriguez and Tiffany Huber fell to UT Martin's Asel Jumamukhambetova and Potter 8-4. The pair of Tiffany Huber and Mia Schmidt-Jergens fell to Sohn and Bente of Memphis.

In the B-flight singles, Mia Schmidt Jergens advanced on a bye and Anna Collins beat Sarah Brakin of Belmont 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.

In the B-doubles, Mia Schmidt-Jergens and Anna Collins advanced on a bye before falling to the Evansville pair of Pascual Larringa and Pereira 8-1.
