Cards make eight NCAA B-cuts on first day and win 15 races.
The University of Louisville leads the dual meet with Missouri after the first day of racing. In all, the Cardinals won 15 races and had eight NCAA B-Cuts.

The No. 8-ranked Cardinal men's team leads No. 6-ranked Missouri 115-71. The No. 11-ranked Cardinal women's team leads the No. 12-ranked Tigers 120-66 after one day of competition.

"This is always a tricky time coming off of a long break from racing and it can get a little bit rusty," said UofL head coach Arthur Albiero. "We did a great job today and we have great respect for our opponent for coming here and trying this two-day format. It was a good day of racing. We will both come back on fire tomorrow."

UofL was paced by triple winner Grigory Tarasevich who won the 200-back and was a part of both winning relays. Mallory Comerford won the 100-free and was a part of both of the women's relays.

In the women's 200-free relay, the UofL foursome of Mallory Comerford (22.93) Avery Braunecker (22.95), Rachel Grooms (23.13) and an anchor of 22.61 by Casey Fanz combined for a 1:31.62 and the win.

In the men's 200-free relay, Andrej Barna (20.47), Trevor Carroll (19.59), Grigory Tarasevich (19.75) and David Boland (19.93) put up the winning time of 1:19.74.

In the women's 3-meter diving, Molly Fears took top honors with a 321.45 for the Cards. Teammate Andrea Acquista was fourth with a 304.80. Breanna Price was 8th (237.45).

In the men's 1-meter diving, Daniel Fecteau was second with a score of 317.85 for the Cards. Teammate Sean Riley was fifth with a scored of 284.33.

In the women's 400-IM, Rachael Bradford-Feldman had a B-cut with a time of 4:17.99 and the win. Marah Pugh was fourth with a 4:26.02. Sofie Underdahl boarded a 4:27.24 for fifth.

In the men's 400-IM, UofL's Jarrett Jones was two seconds ahead of the field with a 3:54.51 for the win. Â Zach Harting touched third with a time of 3:58.71.

In the women's 100-free, Louisville's Mallory Comerford held on for the win with a NCAA B-cut of 49.60. Cardinal Abigail Houck was second in 50.71 and Casey Fanz made it a Cardinal sweep with a third place time of 50.89.

Missouri's Michael Chadwick touched first in the men's 100-free with an NCAA B-cut time of 43.64. Louisville's Trevor Carroll was in hot pursuit, touching second in 44.20, also a B-cut. Matthias Lindenbauer was third in 44.87 and Andrej Barna scored fourth place points with a 44.97.

In the women's 200-back, Cardinal Alina Kendzior put up an NCAA B-cut time of 1:57.43. Mizzou's Nadine Laemmler was second with another B-cut (1:58.39).

Cardinal Grigory Tarasevich won the men's 200-back with an NCAA B-cut time of 1:44.36. Teammate Aaron Greene was third with a time of 1:47.18.

In the women's 200-breast, Andrea Cottrell left the field in her wake, putting  up an NCAA B-cut time of 2:11.84 almost three seconds ahead of Mizzou's Katharine Ross' runnerup time of 2:14.87.  Lauren James of Louisville was third with a 2:18.58.

Carlos Claverie won the men's 200-breast with an NCAA B-cut time of 1:57.35. Fabian Schwingenschloegl was second in 2:00.84. Brennen Berger of Louisville was sixth in 2:05.95.

In the women's 100-fly, Cardinal frosh Grace Oglesby clocked a B-cut time of 54.40. Teammate Mallory Comerford was right behind her with a 54.97. Hannah Magnuson touched fourth for the Cardinals with a 56.12.

In the men's 100-fly, UofL's Josh Quallen powered to a B-cut time of 48.27 and the win. Teammate Zach Harting went 48.66 for third just ahead of David Boland's 48.70.

In women's 1-meter springboard, MU's Lauren Reedy was first, boarding a 314.40. The top Cardinal was Molly Fears' fourth place scored of 276.75.

In the women's 500-free, Louisville's Abigail Houck finished well ahead of the field with a 4:51.83. MU's Kira Zubar was second in 4:55.86. Emily Moser was fourth with a 4:56.05.

In the men's 500-free, Louisville's  56.54 Marcelo Acosta took first with a time of 4:25.44. Teammate Jarrett Jones was second in 4:28.36 and Jake Schultz made it a sweep with a 4:33.23 for third.

MU's Katharine Ross was into the wall first with a 56.38 in the 100-IM. Andrea Cottrell was second with a 56.54 and Rachael Bradford-Feldman touched third in 57.51. Alina Kendzior was fourth with a 57.63.

Mizzou's Michael Chadwick was the only swimmer under 50 seconds, boarding a 49.31 for the win in the 100-IM. Josh Quallen was second with a 50.43.

In the men's 3-meter diving, Kyle Goodwin took top honors with a 344.25 score. Daniel Fecteau was the top Cardinal with a fifth place score of 312.15.

In the 400-medley relay, the four) some of Alina Kendzior (54.40), Andrea Cottrell (1:00.39), Grace Oglesby (54:10) and Mallory Comerford (49.46) combined for a winning time of 3:38.89.

The Louisville men won the 400-medley relay when Grigory Tarasevich (47.42), Carlos Claverie(53.74), Josh Quallen (47.40) and Trevor Carroll (43.49) teamed up for a 3:12.06. Â
