Lacrosse Wraps Up Regular Season at Syracuse on Saturday

Cardinals travel to Syracuse for regular season finale
LOUISVILLE, KY. – The No. 8/9 Cardinals (12-3, 3-3 ACC) will face No. 4/5 Syracuse in its regular season finale on Saturday at noon in the Carrier Dome for an ESPN3 televised matchup.

In its last matchup against No. 11/14 Virginia, a late rally fell short as the Cardinals dropped a 10-9 match at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Kay Morissette led the Cardinals with three goals and assist while Kelli Gerding added two goals and three assists.

For the season, Morissette continues to lead the way for the Cardinals in scoring with 51 points, scoring 34 goals and adding 17 assists. Morissette is second in the nation with 139 draw controls, averaging 9.27 draws a game. Gerding is second on the team with 44 points (23 goals and a team-high 21 assists) while Cortnee Daley is third on the team with 42 points (32 goals and 10 assists). Hannah Koloski boasts a team-best 36 goals and adds two assists for 38 points. In the cage, Read boasts a .515 save percentage, which is eighth in the nation. The sophomore goalkeeper has 106 saves on the season and boasts a 7.09 goals against average, which is ninth in the nation.Â

Against the Big Red, Kayla Treanor led Syracuse with two goals and an assist. She has 249 goals in her career and is one goal shy of being the Orange all-time goals scoring leader. Nicole Levy and Taylor Gait each added two goals and goalkeeper Allie Murray had five saves in the victory.

Kayla Treanor leads the team with 64 points having scored 39 goals and adding 25 assists. Treanor leads the nation with 142 draw controls and has a team-high 23 ground balls. Halle Majorana (29 goals, 22 assists) is second on the team with 51 points. Riley Donahue (34 goals, 16 assists) and Nicole Levy (32 goals, 18 assists) are tied for third with 50 points. Â In the cage, Allie Murray has seen action in 16 games, collecting a 8.68 goals against average. She boasts a .413 save percentage and has 88 saves on the season.
