Women's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season on Florida Swing

Cards take on Florida State and Miami
The University of Louisville women's tennis team will wrap up the regular season this weekend. The Cardinals travel to Florida to take on No. 57-ranked Florida State on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and No. 7-ranked Miami (FL) on Sunday at noon.

The Cardinals (8-15, 0-12) are coming off a hard fought, 4-3 loss to No. 32-ranked Syracuse on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals lost the doubles point at No. 1 and 3, and found themselves down 2-0 after losing the first singles match. Louisville quickly came back to take a 3-2 lead after Abbie Pahz, Ellie Stokes, and Sena Suswam each won on their courts. Olivia Boesing and Jessie Paul pushed their opponents to three grinding sets before falling.

The Seminoles bring a 10-12 overall record and a 2-10 conference record into Friday's matchup following a 4-3 win at No. 37-ranked NC State and a 4-3 loss to No. 20-ranked Wake Forest. They are lead by No. 31-ranked singles Daneika Borthwick. Florida State will take on Troy University on Friday before the match versus the Cards.

The Hurricanes bring a 15-4 overall record and a 10-2 conference record into Sunday's match against the Cardinals. Miami (FL) are currently on an 11-match win streak, including nine over ACC opponents. They are lead by No. 6 Stephanie Wagner followed by No. 8 Sinead Lohan, No. 37 Yolimar Ogando, and No. 64 Wendy Zhang. Miami (FL) also boasts the No. 8 doubles duo in Wagner and Zhang. The Hurricane will play host to Syracuse on Friday before they matchup against Louisville.

Following this weekends action, Louisville will get ready for the 2016 ACC Championships which will take place April 20th-24th in Cary, North Carolina.
