Cardinals return home after a two game road stint
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- The No. 6 University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will play host to the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium.Â

Coming off a 15-7 road victory at Canisius, the Cardinals enter the game with an 8-1 overall record. Four players posted hat tricks in the win while Julia Wood led the Cardinals with a career-high four goals. Madison Hoover, Kelli Gerding and Hannah Koloski each scored three goals.

Kaylin Morissette leads Louisville with 27 points, scoring 18 goals while adding nine assists and a team-high 22 ground balls. Koloski has scored 20 goals and added two assists for 22 points, while Gerding (12 goals and 13 assists) and Cortnee Daley (19 goals and six assists) both have 25 points.

Morissette ranks second in the nation in draw controls averaging 10.56 draws per game. Sophomore Brittany Read is ranked nationally in three categories, including eighth in goals against average at 6.67, second in save percentage at 54.8, and 10th in saves with 74. Louisville is ranked seventh in the nation in scoring defense, allowing an average of 6.78 goals per game.

Coastal Carolina enters Sunday's match with a 4-2 record after winning its last four games, outscoring their opponents 42-23.  The Chanticleers edged Cincinnati 6-5 on Friday night. Maggie Carr notched a hat trick and Sophie Crowther scored two goals in the win.Â

The Chanticleers are led by senior Sara Nolan with 22 points, scoring 17 goals and five assists. Carr follows with 15 points, scoring two goals and adding 13 assists, while Crowther adds 10 points, scoring seven goals and adding three assists. Junior Goalkeeper Jenna Stover ranks in the top five in the nation in save percentage, stopping 54.8 percent of the shots faced.

Sunday's matchup will be the first meeting between the two teams.Â
