Women's Tennis Set to Open ACC Slate

Cards face Pitt and UND on the road.
The University of Louisville women's tennis team will hit the road to open ACC play this weekend with a trip to Pittsburgh on Friday and will finish the weekend off in South Bend when they face off with No. 33 Notre Dame on Sunday.

The Cardinals (6-2) are coming off their second loss of the season after falling to Marshall 4-3 this past weekend at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center. Junior Olivia Boesing and Sophomore Ariana Rodriquez grabbed two of the three Cardinal points against the Thundering Herd and continue to be undefeated in singles play this season.

Pittsburgh is 3-1 to open the season with the lone loss coming against the Fighting Irish in its ACC opener this past Friday. The Cardinals faced off against the Panthers at Bass Rudd Tennis last season and came away with a 4-3 victory in their first season of ACC play.

No. 33 Notre Dame is 4-3 to begin the season with the three losses on the season all coming against ranked opponents. The Fighting Irish knocked off the Cardinals in their meeting last year 4-3 at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center. Notre Dame will face off against Indiana at home on Saturday before they take on the Cardinals the following day.

Following this weekend's matchups, the Cardinals will be on the road again to challenge Wake Forest on Feb. 26 and Virginia on Feb. 28.
