Women's Swimming and Diving Set for ACC Championships

The 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Swimming & Diving and Men's Diving Championships begin Wednesday, February 18, and continue through Saturday, February 20, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Defending ACC Champion Virginia enters the ACC Championship ranked No. 5 in the latest CSCAA poll. The Cavaliers are led by head coach Augie Busch and have won eight consecutive conference titles. Virginia finished 4-0 in conference competition this season.

Tenth-ranked NC State finished 2-1 in ACC regular-season competition. The Wolfpack won the league's first two titles in 1979 and 1980.

North Carolina, which is ranked 15th in the latest CSCAA poll, finished with a 2-2 conference record. Louisville is ranked 17th nationally in the latest CSCAA poll. The Cardinals finished the regular season with a 1-1 record in the ACC.

In 2015, the Cardinals finished fourth as a team. UofL senior Tanja Kylliainen had three gold medals overall, setting three ACC records and was named the ACC's Most Valuable Swimmer. Teammate Kelsi Worrell won gold in both the 200-fly and the 100-fly and earned a silver in the 50-free. In all, the Cards set nine school records, five ACC individual titles, and set four ACC records.

A live video stream of event finals will be available on ESPN3 on Thursday through Saturday starting at 6 p.m., with Dean Linke handling play-by-play and Warren Perry adding analysis.

There is no charge for admission to the 2016 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships. Parking is available for $8 cash for a single day or $16 cash for all four days of competition.
