Cards win home opener
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Cardinals recorded victories in every event in their meet against Xavier on Friday afternoon at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. The men defeated the Musketeers 210-65 while the women won 198-62.
Â
"It's always good to get back to racing and racing at home. We never take that for granted." UofL head coach Arthur Albiero said after the meet. "I think the way this was set up was a chance for a lot of our freshman to really get a feel for what a home meet is like and we put a couple different people in different positions to see how they handle it and I think overall it was positive. There's a lot of things we've got to continue to learn and continue to do better. The road only gets tougher with tough meets coming up at Tennessee and then UNC at home, but it's good. I like where we are as a group and as a program. This is just an assessment for us and we have to take the things we are learning today into practice and make a big difference coming up."
