Cards add Cheyanne Tarango to coaching staff
University of Louisville head softball coach Sandy Pearsall has announced that Cheyanne Tarango has joined the Cardinals' coaching staff as a volunteer assistant.
Â
Her duties will include working with pitchers, offense and defense in practice and game preparation.
Â
"We have been fortunate to have quality volunteer assistants coaches over the years and Cheyanne continues that tradition," said UofL head coach Sandy Pearsall. "She comes from a program that has had tremendous success and we look forward to her joining our program."
Â
Tarango joins the Cardinals after a four-year career at the University of Tennessee (2012-15). During her time in Knoxville, the pitcher/infielder helped the Lady Vols to three Women's College World Series appearances (2012, 2013 and 2015) and an NCAA runner-up finish in 2014.
Â
She collected 14 wins in the circle while belting out 19 career home runs, including 10 in the 2013 season.
Â
Tarango was a member of USA Softball's junior national team in 2010 and 2011.
