On Day 4 of Louisville volleyball preseason camp, the team was ready to go. We started out with a delicious breakfast to fuel our bodies for the day. The main topic of conversation is usually how much our bodies hurt (jokingly of course because we love the competitive play). It is tough but we know we will come out a stronger team. Plus we have our great coaches to hype us up whenever we need it.
Then it was time for practice. Despite the pain and soreness the team fought hard in practice, but that is the norm for this special team. We persevered through tough defensive and ball control drills that were both mentally and physically taxing. But at the end we can all say we got a lot better and closer as a team.
After practice we had rehab to take care of our bodies, which usually includes the dreaded ice bath. But as much as we despise it, we know it is good for us, so we learn to freeze through it. I personally got to ice bath, NormaTec, and get a lovely elbow massage. We all like to hang out in the training room and there are usually quite a few laughs.
At the end of the day we fight, persevere, work hard, and of course laugh a little. We go home satisfied but ready and hungry for the next day.
