Lightning and heavy rain arrived at Jim Patterson Stadium before baseball could be played.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Wednesday night's Louisville-Kentucky baseball game at Jim Patterson Stadium was postponed due to heavy rain and lightning and will be rescheduled at a later date.
All tickets purchased for Wednesday's game will be honored for the rescheduled date. A ticket stub from the originally scheduled game will be required for re-entry on the rescheduled date.
After an initial 30-minute delay due to lightning, the teams completed pregame introductions but were pulled off the field prior to first pitch due to additional lightning. Heavy rain and lightning remained in the area forcing the postponement.
Up next, No. 5 Louisville returns to ACC action with a weekend series at Duke starting Friday at 6 p.m., ET. The series will continue on Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.) with all three weekend games to be played at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
