
Women's Tennis Goes 4-0 in Final Day of Notre Dame Invitational

The University of Louisville Women's tennis traveled to South Bend, Indiana this past weekend to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational alongside Illinois, Purdue, Tulane and Akron.
"We had a good day again today going 4-0," said head coach Mark Beckham. "You obviously want the good results but more than anything you want to see improvement over the weekend and we definitely showed that. We played well against good competition. We know what we need to improve and also got some quality wins. So overall a very good weekend."
The Cards went undefeated in singles this Sunday with a 4-0 record. Ellie Stokes picked up two 6-4 wins against Illinois player Grace Tapak. Olivia Boesing pulled a 6-0, 6-2 win over Akron's Shannon Newnes and, Ellie Gerlach came through with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Tulane's Emily Dvorak. Aleksandra Mally beat Molly O'Koniewski from Notre Dame 6-2, 6-1.
At the end of the Invitational the Cards came out with a record of 9-3 in singles and 5-3 in doubles. This weekend the Cards will head to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the Purdue Invitational.
