Eleni Georgiafandis Takes on the Volleyblog
August 11, 2014 | Women's Volleyball
Hi! It's Eleni Georgiafandis writing the Volleyblog today! I am a freshman from Knoxville, Tennessee. I graduated early from Bearden High School and so I spent last spring semester on campus and so although I am a freshman, I have a spring practice under my belt.
Listen Up Cards Fans! Today was Day 2 of two-a-days and it was awesome! The energy from the very beginning was through the roof and so contagious!
Even Coach Lee Maes caught on and demonstrated his prestigious skills in the "running man"! Who knew he could dance?!
Since we're still in school, there were a couple of tutoring sessions mixed in to our afternoon break, but we still started the Second Session with the same energy and intensity as the first! Our first task for Session Two was one of our favorite games, Ultimate.
The competitive juices were flowing and there was, of course, some trash talking and rough defense going on from both teams, but it kept the game very entertaining! We finished our day with an ice bath that was equivalent to the temperature of the snow in Antarctica, and a great pasta dinner!
This year's team is extraordinary. We are a family that is working our butt's off every day on the court and the in weight room to accomplish our new ACC goals! We are ready to rock this conference and could not be more excited for this season. We hope Card Nation is ready to rumble because this is about to be an unforgettable season!
L's Up!! See you at the matches!!
