Louisville players have been selected for the conference player and pitcher of the week honors seven times overall this season, including each of the last three weeks. Last week, the Cardinals swept the honors as senior Jeff Gardner was the player of the week, while sophomore Kyle Funkhouser was the pitcher of the week. Two weeks ago, sophomore Danny Rosenbaum was chosen as the player of the week, while junior Zach Lucas was selected for that honor on March 17 and Feb. 24. On Feb. 17, Gardner was tabbed as the player of the week following the opening weekend of action.
Up next, the No. 5 Cardinals (40-12, 16-5 American) will host No. 9 Indiana (35-12) on Tuesday at 6 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
