Louisville Men's Soccer Announces Four Prep Signees

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's soccer head coach Ken Lolla announced the signing of four prep standouts in the 2014 recruiting class on Friday afternoon.
Midfielders Papy Diouf, Sawyer Edwards and Jack Gayton and goalkeeper Nick Jeffs will join the Cardinals as freshmen for the 2014 season. Profiles for each of the four Louisville newcomers are listed below.
"The group is very talented as well as being people of good character," Lolla said. "We're excited about what they will add to our desire to excel."
The 2014 fall collegiate season will feature the Cardinals' debut in the Atlantic Coast Conference as well as the opening of the University of Louisville's new home facility -- Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. 2014 Louisville Men's Soccer Signees
Papy Diouf | MF | 5-10 | Dakar, Senegal (Avon (Conn.) Old Farms School)
Played three seasons of prep soccer at Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut. Was team captain as a senior. Was a two-time member of the All-NEPSSA Team (New England Prep School Soccer Association) after scoring 17 goals as a senior and 14 as a junior. Was also a two-time member of the All-WNEPSSA Team (Western New England Prep School Soccer Association) and a two-time selection to the Independent All-Star Team. Competed for one season in track and field as a sprinter.
Sawyer Edwards | MF | 6-2 | Parker, Colo. (Chaparral HS)
Played for Real Colorado in the US Soccer Development Academy (U16DA-U18DA). Was a member of three State Cup championships teams. Played two seasons of prep soccer at Chaparral prior to competing in US Soccer Development Academy. Was team captain and leading scorer while earning First Team All-Conference honors as sophomore at Chaparral. Also lettered for three seasons in football as a placekicker at Chaparral.
Jack Gayton | MF | 5-11 | Peachtree City, Ga. (Home School)
Played for Real Salt Lake in US Soccer Development Academy from 2012-14 and was a member of team's U15/U16 national championships. Ranked as top 100 player in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Member of the ODP Region III Team in 2009 and 2010. Was also a two-year letterwinner in soccer at Starr's Mill High School from 2010-12 earning All-Region honors in 2012. Member of the Concorde Fire in the US Soccer Development Academy from 2009-12.
Nick Jeffs | GK | 6-4 | Ottawa, Ont., Canada (John McCrae HS)
Played four years with the Ottawa Fury in the youth academy system and won division titles each season. Played with the Team Ontario U16 team.
