In team scores, UofL men fell to Texas 217-136, Michigan 242-110 and was edged by Indiana 186-166.5. The women fell to Texas 243-108.50, and Michigan 232.5-120.5 and Indiana 210-143.
"This was a fantastic competition environment. We relished the opportunity to measure our program against some of the very best in the country. Our team stepped up to the challenge in many spots. We let a few opportunities escape us, but we continue to grow and learn."
In the 200-medley relay, Tanja Kyllianen (25.61), Andrea Cottrell (28.95), Kelsi Worrell (23.46) and Maggie Patterson (23.30) combined to board a second place time of 1:41.32. The men finished fourth with a time of 1:29.18, posted by Grigory Tarasevich (22.79), Thomas Dahlia (24.79), Pedro Coutinho (21.42) and Caryle Blondell (20.18).
In the 200-back, Tanja Kylliainen touched fourth in 1:57.72. Kristina Steins went 2:02.77 with Erica Belcher posting a 2:02.90 for 13th. Grigory Tarasevich was second in the men's 200-back with a time of 1:46.30 with teammate Aaron Greene going 1:47.45 for fifth. Nolan Tesone was right behind him with a 1:47.48.
In the 100-freestyle, Kelsi Worrell was just out-touched by Michigan's Ali DeLoof, who went 50.03 to Worrell's 50.16. Andrea Kneppers tied for 11th in 51.93 and Rachel Grooms was 13th in 52.16. In the men's event, Caryle Blondell was the top Card with a sixth place tinme of 44.87, just ahead of Matthias Lindenbauer who was seventh in 44.93. Rudy Edelen was ninth in 45.43.
In the 200-breast, Andrea Cottrell was fourth in 2:18.01 with Lauren James touching ninth in 2:21.98. Lucy Kramer was 10th in 2:22.25. In the men's event, Thomas Dahlia finished fourth with a time of 2:00.97. Freshman Carlos Claverie was fifth in 2:01.06 and Addison Bray touched 8th in 2:03.72.
In the 500 free, Marah Pugh was the top Cardinal with a seventh place time of 4:53.39. Abby Chin went 5:02.48 for 12th and Abigail Houck went 5:03.41 for 13th. In the men's event, Trevor Carroll was sixth in 4:31.21. Bryan Draganosky turned in a 4:35.40 for 11th and Matthias Lindenbauer was 14th in 4:38.24. Maggie Patterson was 11th in 57.49 and Hannah Magnuson was 13th in 57.61.
Kelsi Worrell was first in the 100-fly, with a 53.46 almost a full second ahead of Texas' Kelsey Leneave. Cardinal Maggie Patterson was 11th and Hannah Magnuson was 13th in 57.61. For the men, Pedro Coutinho was fifth in 48.30 with Josh Quallen touching 10th in 48.93. David Boland was 12th in 49.37.
In the 400-IM, Marah Pugh was 7th in 4:22.78 for the Cardinals, with Abby Chin boarding a 12th place time of 4:31.79 and Lauren James was 13th in 4:36.10. Nolan Tesone was the Cards' top finisher with a fourth place time of 3:53.02. Ryan Massey was 12th in 4:06.49 and Jake Schultz was 13th in 4:06.99.
In 1-meter diving, Andrea Acquista was tenth with a score of 240.65. Emily Stalmack was 11th with a 236.90.
In the 400-free relay, Andrea Kneppers (51.84), Ashley Leclair (52.02), Abigail Houck 52.31 and an anchor by Rachel Grooms of 52.85 for a 3:29.02. The men were fourth as Thomas Dahlia (44.88), Caryle Blondell 44.07, Matthias Lindenbauer (44.32 and Trevor Carroll anchored with a 44.11 for a combined time of 2:57.38.
