Hey there Cards fans, Javoni here to fill you in on this lovely day of preseason!
We woke at the prime hour of about 6:30am, and arrived at Yum! at 7am for breakfast which was made by our substitute for Zach, Dan. He made us a lovely healthy breakfast that consisted of cereal (not the good stuff) and a berry shake.
After eating, everyone headed to the training room to foam roll and get taped before heading onto the court to gear up for an effort-filled 2.5 hour practice. The morning practice involved a lot of high intensity conditioning -- all of which will pay off during season!
Then there was lift also ran by our substitute strength coach, Dan. We are getting stronger every day! Following that was ice bath time:15 girls waist deep in the water of a prime 50 degrees. Talk about a good time! Then lunch... nothing too exciting just a delicious wrap and some veggie soup.
I would like to add that Janelle and I went to Starbucks before practice to get iced coffee (with nothing in it, Zach!) to get some energy!
The last practice involved a lot of 6-on-6 live playing drills. The intensity was very high. Following practice was another routine team foam roll and ice bath.
Then we had a lovely going away dinner for Ben Felz and his wife. We gave him a card full of messages for each one of us that hopefully made him cry because we are going to miss him so much!! We also included Swiss Cake Rolls and a huge bag of Skittles (Enjoy Ben!).
Well that's about it for the day!
Talk to y'all soon!
Love,
