Hi Cards Fans!
It is Janelle Jenkins reporting to you today on the Volleyblog!!
Today during preseason we executed the drills that Coach Anne and Coach Lee had prepared for us. Coach Lee is always talks about maximizing reps and using a lot of "eye work" to understand what to do in game like situations.
We started the day off with a very healthy breakfast and being carefully watched by our Nutritionist Zack to make sure we ate our food. Being in the training room before practice with the girls is one of the best locations to joke around with each other.
The middles and setters warmed-up early to start the practice off with some good blocking footwork and setting footwork. The rest of the team joined in afterwards and the intensity level went up.
After a great lift with Zach we proceed to Ville Grille to eat lunch. The workers were excited as usually because when our team gets together all our personalities come out and the workers enjoy watching us bicker and laugh over our meals.
Coming back to the gym Coach Anne let us warm up to a game called "speed ball." It is not always about how athletic you are in the game but how smart you place the ball on the court to defeat you opponent. This game set the tone for the rest of practice and we certainly maximized a lot of reps during this time.
