Hey Card fans!
Hannah Kvitle here!
I am writing you from the reclining section of my couch, on a full tummy! After another strong set of three days on, the team has earned this second day off. Since today was an off day, I get to tell you less about volleyball and more about our lives outside the gym.
This morning started a whole TWO HOURS later than our regular preseason mornings. Thanks to our lovely strength coach and athletic trainer, we had a delicious and nutritious breakfast awaiting us at our practice facility, followed by a speedy regeneration session.
After our arctic gathering in the ice bath, Emily Juhl and I headed to Bardstown Road for a couple of lattes to warm us up for a mini shopping spree. See, next Sunday is the annual All-Sports Welcome Back Banquet, where all the student-athletes wear dresses instead of dri-fits! Turns out we weren't the only girls on the team out shopping for the occasion...Brooke Mattingly and Haley Pouliezos were waiting outside the same store when we got there. Haley ended up finding this really cute skirt/ tank-top combo, that she's gonna WORK at that banquet. :)
My afternoon was spent taking care of some much-needed housekeeping with my roommates! Myself, Carly Sahagian and Jaden McBride all caught up on our laundry, made our beds, and finally conquered the mountain of dishes that had formed during our busy practice stint.
Around 5 p.m., Courtney Robison, Emily Juhl, Maya McClendon, Sydney Cooper, and I went downtown for a block party! We got to meet a lot of new people, hand out our 2013 posters and sign autographs for fans. We are so blessed to have such a supportive fan base, and are excited to see all the new faces we have attracted for our upcoming season.
Finally, I returned home to a brownie hand-delivered by Randi Ewing, my book (The Saffron Kitchen by Yasmin Crowther)and my bed.
Stay tuned for the next update ! LOVE,
HANNAH ☺
