LOUISVILLE, Ky. - With the 2013 Major League Soccer regular season having surpassed its midway point and the All-Star Game just a little more than two weeks away, here is the latest GoCards.com update on how Louisville men's soccer alums are progressing this season. Overall, seven former Cardinals have connections to six different MLS teams in 2013.
Louisville Cardinals in Major League Soccer
- Austin Berry - Defender - Chicago Fire (Click here for Berry's Profile with the Fire)
Berry has started all 18 games for the Chicago Fire this season connecting for one goal and adding two assists. On June 19, the second-year defender connected for his first goal of the season in Chicago's 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids. The team-leader in minutes played this season with 1,620, the reigning MLS Rookie of the Year has started and played in 46 matches in his professional career with the Fire scoring four goals. Overall, Chicago has a 6-9-3 record and 21 points to rank eighth in the MLS Eastern Conference standings.

Cochrane has played in 10 games with seven starts since making his MLS debut with the Galaxy earlier this season on April 13. A second round selection in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by the Galaxy, Cochrane has not played since a June 8 start against Real Salt Lake. Overall, LA is fifth in the MLS Western conference standings with 30 points and a 9-8-3 record.

DeLeon has 11 starts and has played in 12 matches overall for the United in 2013. The MLS Rookie of the Year runner-up, DeLeon has missed each of the last three DC matches with an ankle injury suffered on June 26 in US Open Cup victory over New England. He has not played in an MLS match since starting in the 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on June 22. DeLeon, who also missed four games earlier this season due to a hamstring injury, has one assist overall in the 2013 MLS season. As a team, DC United is 10th in the MLS Eastern Conference standings with 10 points and a 2-13-4 record.

DelPiccolo has not yet seen game action during the 2013 MLS season after signing with the Montreal Impact on July 5. A First Team All-BIG EAST selection for the Cardinals, DelPiccolo was selected by Montreal in the second round, 27th overall, in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft and has been training with the club since June 3 following a stint in Germany.
- Andrew Farrell - Defender - New England Revolution (Click here for Farrell's Profile with the Revolution)
The No. 1 overall selection in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft and a First Team All-American at Louisville, Farrell has started and played in 16 games during his rookie season for the New England Revolution. With one assist on the season, Farrell has six total shots, including one in each of New England's last two matches. As a team, the Revolution is sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference race with 24 points and a 6-6-6 record.
- Aaron Horton - Forward - Columbus Crew (Click here for Horton's Profile with the Crew)
A member of the Crew, Horton has not seen game action in the MLS this season and is currently on loan from Columbus to the LA Blues of the United Soccer Leagues where he has played in five games. After starting a short-term loan with the Blues on May 29, that loan aggreement was extended through the end of the USL PRO Season (Sept. 6-8) on June 24. Horton had surgery on his left knee to repair a torn left lateral meniscus at the end of March.
- Kenney Walker - Midfielder - LA Galaxy (Click here for Walker's Profile with the Galaxy)
Walker has not seen MLS minutes for the LA Galaxy in 2013 and is currently in Sweden for a training stint. Walker, who had foot surgery in the offseason, did see action in the Galaxy's US Open Cup loss to the Carolina RailHawks in late May. The Louisville product was selected by the Galaxy with the 38th pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.
