Fellerhoff Named Tennis BIG EAST Player of the Week

Louisville sophomore Julia Fellerhoff was named BIG EAST Player of the Week in women's tennis in the fourth weekly awards of the spring 2013 season.

Fellerhoff was 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles last week as the Cardinals knocked off Eastern Michigan and Michigan State 6-1 and 6-1. From the No. 1 spot, the sophomore defeated Nino Mebuke of Eastern Michigan 6-3, 6-3 and Marina Bohrer of Michigan State 6-4, 7-5. At No. 1 doubles, Fellerhoff and partner Manuela Velasquez won 8-4 against the Eagles and 8-7 against the Spartans.

The Cardinals are back in action when they travel to Eastern Kentucky on Thursday for a match with the Colonels. U of L will take on Wisconsin at noon on Saturday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
