
Men's Soccer Travels to Saint Louis

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville men's soccer team will travel to Saint Louis on Tuesday, Sept. 4 for an 8:00 p.m. match. The Cardinals are coming off a 3-1 win over Belmont while the Billikens are coming off a 3-1 win over UMKC.
Louisville owns a 1-1 record on the year, falling to No. 3 Maryland in the season opener while defeating Belmont in the home opener. The Cardinals have three players with a goal, senior Ryan Smith, sophomore Alex Obbey and freshman Marlon Hairston. Sophomore keeper Joachim Ball owns a 2.00 goals against average with a 1-1-0 record.
Saint Louis enters the game with an overall record of 2-1-0. The Billikens have wins over Drake and UMKC while falling to No. 12 Indiana 2-1. Jon Roeckle and Adnan Gabeljic lead the team with a goal and an assist for three points. Keeper Nick Shackelford owns a 1.00 goals against average and a 2-1-0 record.
Saint Louis leads the series 11-1 over the Cardinals. The last time the two teams met in Saint Louis the Cardinals defeated the Billikens 2-0 on Sept. 27, 2003. It is the only win in the series for the Cardinals.
