
Lola Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Senior Lola Arslanbekova of Louisville led the Cardinals to a 4-0 week, including a 3-1 win over No. 10 Kentucky to be named the BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week.
Arslanbekova helped Louisville defeat in-state rival, No. 10 Kentucky in four sets with 20 kills and 17 digs. She was also named the MVP of the Cardinal Classic, helping her team with wins over Marshall (3-0), Duke (3-0) and Samford (3-1). The BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year registered a double-double with 19 kills and 12 digs over Duke, followed by another double-double effort over Samford with 22 kills, 17 digs and a .429 hitting percentage. She averaged 4.86 kills and 3.65 digs per set in four matches.
Weekly Honor Roll:Toni Alugbue, Notre Dame, So., RSHit .700 with 21 kills in a 3-1 win over Buffalo as the Irish went 3-0 to win the Shamrock Invitational. Named MVP of the Central Connecticut State Invitational.Dani White, Georgetown, So., MBTallied 46 kills while hitting .446 to earn MVP honors at the William & Mary Tribe Invitational.Stephanie Zielinksi, Rutgers, Sr., SHelped Rutgers go 4-0 and claim the Rutgers Invitational Championship. Dished out 40 or more assists in three of the four matches, including a career-high 65 against URI.
