
Men's Soccer Travels to Rutgers on Sunday

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville men's soccer team will travel to Rutgers for a nationally televised game on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on CBS College Sports.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 5-3-0 and a league record of 1-0-0. Last week the Cardinals finished with two wins, including a 2-1 defeat of No. 4 Notre Dame on Saturday. The Cardinals have had a week to rest and get healthy before continuing BIG EAST play. Senior Greg Cochrane leads the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points. Junior Dylan Mares ranks second on the team with two goals and two assists for six points. Junior Mike Mauro started the last two games for the Cardinals in goal. He owns a 0.50 goals against average with one shutout on the year.
Rutgers enters the game with an overall record of 4-3-0 and a BIG EAST record of 0-1-0. Last weekend, Rutgers dropped its first BIG EAST match of the season, falling to Georgetown, 1-0. Freshman midfielder Mael Corboz has made an immediate impact on the Scarlet Knights' offense, leading the team in scoring with two goals and two assists for six points. Rutgers' goalkeeper Kevin McMullen has started and played every single minute for the Scarlet Knights. The senior has given up just six goals on the season. He owns a 0.85 goals against average and has three shutouts on the season.
Louisville leads the series 4-1-2 against the Scarlet Knights. The Cardinals own a 1-1-1 record against the Rutgers on the road. Louisville has won two of the last three meetings. Last season the two teams finished in a 1-1 tie in Cardinal Park. The last time the two teams met at Yurcak Field the Cardinals defeated the Scarlet Knights 2-1.
