
Lola Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Lola Arslanbekova of Louisville earns BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after leading the Cardinals to two wins over nationally ranked teams. Silvi Uattara from Syracuse was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, while averaging 3.48 kills per set, including a 25-kill performance in a win over No. 18 Iowa State.
Arslanbekova helped the Cardinals sweep No. 11 Purdue in three sets followed by a 3-2 win over No. 20 Illinois. The reigning BIG EAST Player of the Year averaged 5.25 kills and 4.0 digs per set including two double-doubles as Louisville improved to 8-1. In the win over Purdue, Arslanbekova tallied 20 kills and 11 digs and followed that up with a 22-kill, 21-dig performance over Illinois en route to MVP honors in a four-team tournament that included Cincinnati.
