LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Just days away from one of the most anticipated seasons in program history, University of Louisville Athletics officials announced Monday single-match ticket and concessions promotions for the 2012 volleyball season.
Season Mini Plans featuring tickets to five marquee matches are now on sale through the Louisville Athletic Ticket Office. Fans can purchase season or individual match tickets by calling (502) 852-5151, visiting the ticket office, or online through www.UofLsports.com.
Louisville, which has won either the BIG EAST regular season or tournament championship for seven consecutive years, will play one of the nation's toughest schedules by welcoming perennial powers Penn State, Texas, Duke, and Miami (Fla.) plus rival Kentucky to the KFC Yum! Center. The 20-match home schedule is highlighted by great giveaways and special offers, which allow fans to experience the exciting action at exceptional values.
Just released to the public, fans have the opportunity to purchase reserved tickets for five select matches at the KFC Yum! Center for up to 25 percent off the single-match price. This special Mini Plan provides lower level sideline seats for the following matches: Aug. 25 vs. Penn State; Aug. 29 vs. Kentucky; Sept. 23 vs. Notre Dame; Oct. 8 vs. Texas; and Nov. 4 vs. Georgetown. Mini Plan orders are now being accepted through the Athletic Ticket Office.
The Cardinals begin their pursuit of a 14th consecutive NCAA championship appearance by hosting the Active Ankle Challenge Aug. 24-25. The opening weekend features pregame festivities and exclusive season-ticket holder events. Plus, during the evening session on Aug. 25, select student-athletes from all 23 sports sponsored by U of L will sign autographs in the lobby of the KFC Yum! Center as a part of the fall season kickoff.

For just $44, fans get four lower level reserved tickets plus four meal vouchers for four Papa John's Individual Pizzas and four regular soft drinks. An $80 value for just $44. Double-Double Deal
Perfect for date night or a daddy/daughter evening, get your hands on the Double-Double Deal. Saving more than $10, fans receive two lower level reserved tickets plus a gourmet twist pretzel, regular popcorn, and two regular soft drinks for just $22. Available for any regular-season home match at the KFC Yum! Center.
Area Youth Team of the Week
Cardinal Volleyball is looking for the elite teams in Kentuckiana. You can nominate your youth team to be the Area Youth Team of the Week. Winners will receive 20 free tickets to a select home match at the KFC Yum! Center, plus be featured on the video board and be the first to receive postgame autographs from the team. Play on the Nation's Largest Volleyball Court!
Want to play on the largest SportCourt volleyball floor in the country? Now, community organizations and area youth teams can play on the floor of the KFC Yum! Center after select home matches. If your organization or team purchases 100 tickets for a match at the group rate of $2 each, your group can play volleyball on the floor for up to 60 minutes after the match. Organize a fun group outing or get your team together for a scrimmage on the same floor as the Cardinals! To order, call the Athletic Ticket office at (502) 852-7254.
Hike & Spike Deal
Cardinal fans can show their ticket stub from the week's football game to receive a $2 ticket to the volleyball match. Show your football ticket at the KFC Yum! Center ticket windows to take advantage of the jam-packed Louisville Athletics weekend! There are three opportunities to save including Aug. 29 vs. Kentucky, Sept. 14-15 vs. Louisville Invitational, and Nov. 4 vs. Georgetown.
Cardinal Kids Club's Junior Captain
Kids ages 10 and under are eligible to be the honorary Junior Captain of the Game. Winners will receive two free courtside tickets to a selected match; get their picture taken with the team following the match; be on the court for pregame introductions; and tour the locker room prior to the game. Experience It Live! NCAA National Championship in Louisville
This December, the culmination of the volleyball season brings the four best teams to Louisville. For the first time in the history of the NCAA Tournament, the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will hold its marquee weekend in the Derby City. The University of Louisville is set to host the national semifinals and the national championship match on December 13 & 15, 2012, in the KFC Yum! Center. ABOUT LOUISVILLE VOLLEYBALL
The BIG EAST regular-season champions from a year ago return AVCA All-American outside hitter and league offensive player of the year Lola Arslanbekova as well as five starters from last season's 24-9 squad. The Cardinals reached the second round of the NCAA Championship in 2011 and are just one of 18 Division I schools with 20 or more NCAA Championship appearances.
Head coach Anne Kordes is in her second season at the helm of her alma mater, Louisville. Kordes ranks among the elite coaches in the game. With a career record of 170-84 (.669), she is in the top 50 on the Division I volleyball winningest active coaches list.
Louisville opens the 2012 season on Aug. 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET against Western Kentucky on day one of the Active Ankle Challenge at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals will compete against Morehead State (Aug. 25, 11 a.m.) before battling five-time national champion Penn State (Aug. 25, 7:30 p.m.) in a highly anticipated matchup of top programs.
