
Men's Soccer Hosts Belmont on Saturday Night

Louisville, Ky. - The 14th ranked Louisville men's soccer team will open up the home slate against Belmont on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 7:00 p.m. in Cardinal Park. The Cards are looking to bounce back after falling to No. 3 Maryland 3-0 on Sunday night.
The Cardinals enter the game with one regular season game under their belt. After a hard fought loss at Maryland, Louisville will look to regain its winning form against Belmont. Newcomer Joachim Ball made his first start in goal for the Cardinals last week and earns the starting nod again.
Belmont enters the game with an overall record of 0-1-1 after the first week of the season. The Bruins opened up the regular season with a 1-1 tie against Missouri State. Then on Sunday the Bruins fell 2-1 to Evansville. Ralph Colmanette and Pedro Miranda lead the team with one goal apiece. Lou Manning leads the team in goal and owns a 1.40 goals against average.
Louisville leads the series 5-0 against Belmont. In the last meeting the Cards defeated the Bruins 1-0 in Nashville. The Cardinals are 2-0 against the Bruins at home. The last time the two teams met in Cardinal Park, Louisville defeated Belmont 5-0 during the 2003 season.
