Louisville, Ky. - The seventh ranked Louisville men's soccer team will host Lipscomb on Monday, Aug. 20 for the final exhibition game in Cardinal Park at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals are 2-0 in exhibition play this season after defeating UAB and Wisconsin.
For the third straight season, the Louisville men's soccer team begins the season ranked in the Top 10 of the NSCAA/Continental Tire Preseason poll. The Cardinals enter the season ranked No. 7 this season, one of four BIG EAST teams in the rankings.
The Cardinals defeated UAB in the first exhibition game 4-3 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie in the first two periods of play. Newcomer Zach Foxhoven scored the equalizer for the Cardinals while Andrew Farrell scored the game clinching penalty kick.
On Friday evening the Cardinals defeated Wisconsin 1-0. Sophomore Dylan Mares scored the game-winner in the 50th minute. The Cardinal defense earned a shutout.
