LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's soccer head coach Ken Lolla announced today the release of Finding Your Gifts, a children's book. This particular story began at bedtime in the Lolla house with children Tyler, Kristiana and Elijah. Motivated by the influence and story telling style of his grandmother growing up, the book incorporates many of the same principles of success that Coach Lolla teaches as a father, coach and speaker.
"One of the greatest purposes that we have here on earth is to make a positive impact on the lives of others," said Lolla. "The publishing of a book is a timeless way to pass on that positive impact and that purpose."
The story is about finding our gifts in life, as the narrative follows a young boy, a giraffe, and his soccer animal teammates through the jungle. The animals single out the giraffe because he is different, but it is his difference, in the end, that becomes a blessing and leads to the success of the team.
"The life lesson that we hope children will learn is that each and every one of us has certain gifts that make us unique, and those differences are our significance," said Lolla. "Through our significance, we need to share our gift, and we have the responsibility to positively impact the lives of others," said Lolla.
A soft cover of the book is available at http://www.findingyourgifts.com . Books are $9.95 and part of the proceeds will benefit the JT and Friends Organization, a non-profit program designed to help special needs children find their gifts through participation in sports, as well as The Humane Society of the US which is the nation's largest and most effective animal protection organization.
