Clemens Hired to Sports Medicine Staff

Adam Clemens, former assistant athletic trainer at Indiana University will be joining the University of Louisville as the associate athletic trainer for volleyball and rowing.
Clemens has spent the past 12 years at Indiana University as the assistant athletic trainer, where he provided medical care and rehab for women's volleyball, men and women's cross country, and the track and field teams. In addition he worked multiple championship events for track and field, and cross country.
Prior to working at Indiana University, he was an athletic trainer for ARCO United States Olympic Training Center located in Chula Vista, California. He provided care for the US softball team, rowing, soccer, field hockey, canoeing, cycling, kayak, archery, boxing, and track and field programs. His responsibilities included international travel, pharmacy management, and treatment following assessment.
During his time working for ARCO, he was assigned to be the athletic trainer for the United States Bobsled Federation. For the next several months his travels took him all over Europe. He worked the National Team Selections in Park City, Utah and from there he worked the Corel Word Perfect World Cup in Germany and Norway. He also staffed the 2000 World Championships held in Altenburg, Germany.
In 2001, Clemens was selected to be an athletic trainer at the Big Ten Basketball All-Stars. He served as the head athletic trainer for the August 2001 tour to England and Ireland. In 2003, Clemens returned to his international travels when he was selected as an athletic trainer for the Pan American Games held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was responsible for coverage of the rowing and flat water canoe competitors.
In addition to his history of being a trainer, he has spent the past 12 years as an instructor at Indiana University. He has instructed a class on Principles of Athletic Training and Emergency Care, an introductory class for students interested in the Athletic Training program for the past nine years. From 2000-2005, he instructed a class on Therapeutic Modalities which included junior athletic training students in the curriculum.
Clemens began his athletic training career at the University of Delaware. He graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training. Clemens furthered his studies at Indiana University and obtained his Masters of Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in Athletic Training in 1999.
Clemens and his wife, Jenny, have three children: Emily, Ben and Sam.
