
Women's Golf Finishes 16th at Bryan National Collegiate

Browns Summitt, N.C. - The Louisville women's golf team shot a 308 in the final round of the Bryan National Collegiate on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals finished 16th with a score of 941. Tennessee and Duke tied for the lead with a score of 882, forcing a playoff. Tennesse won the playoff on hole 18 with all four players shooting par on the hole. Florida State finished third with a score of 889.
Senior Candice Wiley led the Cardinals, carding a 73 in the final round. Wiley moved up 16 spots to finish tied at 60th with a score of 232. Duke's Lindy Duncan, the nation's top ranked player, shot a 70 in the final round to win medalist honors with a score of 212.
Freshman Emily Haas shot a 77 in the final round for the Cards. Haas also tied at 60th with a score of 232. Wiley and Haas were the top finishers for Louisville. Freshman Katie Petrino shot an 81 in the final round. She finished 71st with a score of 235.
Freshman Sara Karlsson shot an 80 in the final round. She finished 88th with a score of 245. Senior Maria Castellanos finished 90th with a score of 247. Castellanos shot a 78 in the final round.
The Cardinals played without top player Anna-Karin Ljungstrom, who is recovering from thumb surgery. Ljunstrom is expected back for the BIG EAST Tournament on April 22-23 in Orlando, Fla.
