
Women's Golf Stands in Fourth After First Round of the BIG EAST Championship

Reunion, Fla. - The Louisville women's golf team shot a 312 in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship at the Reunion-Watson Course in Reunion, Fla. The Cardinals are currently in fourth place. Notre Dame currently leads the field with a score of 296. South Florida is third with a score of 298 and Rutgers is third with a score of 311.
Freshman Emily Haas leads the Cardinals after shooting a 74 in the first round Haas is currently tied for third and is just one stroke off the lead. Notre Dame's Ashley Armstrong and USF's Kelli Pry lead the field after shooting a73 in the first round.
Freshman Katie Petrino shot a 77 in the first round for the Cardinals. She is currently tied for 15th after one round. Sophomore Tara Lyons shot an 80 in the first round. Lyons is currently tied for 25th place.
Junior Candice Wiley and senior Maria Castellanos finished the day with an 81 for the Cardinals. Both are tied at 28th after one round of play. Senior Anna-Karin Ljungstrom was cleared to practice earlier this week but did not compete in the tournament due to limited practice time.
Louisville will continue play tomorrow with tee times starting at 8:50 a.m.
