Women’s Golf Hosts Cardinal Classic

Five teams will compete in a one-day, 36-hole event
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team is back home and hosting a one-day tournament on Monday, March 30. Louisville welcomes four teams to the University of Louisville Golf Club for the Cardinal Classic, a one-day, 36-hole tournament.
It will begin at 9am on Monday with a shotgun start and then the second and final round will follow in the afternoon. Kentucky, UIC, Evansville and Cincinnati will join the Cardinals for the event as it will be the second to last tournament for the Cardinals before the ACC Championships in April. The Cardinals lineup consists of Veronika Exposito, Bailey Burkett, Thienna Huynh, Millie Cottrell, Emree Cameron and Madison Moman will be competing as an individual.
Louisville is coming off its second-straight tournament victory when they won the Bentwater Women's Collegiate this past week in Acworth, Georgia. The Cardinals finished first in a field of 12 teams with a 34-over-par 898 for the tournament. The Cardinals finished 22-strokes higher than the second-place team finisher.
Exposito claimed the first individual title of her career with a 2-under-par 214 for the tournament. She finished eight-strokes ahead of the second place finisher as all three of her rounds were at or below par. It is the first individual win for a Louisville golfer this season and the third time this year Exposito finished inside the Top 15.
Burkett had her best individual finish of the season, as she was fourth overall after a 10-over-par 226 for the tournament. It was her first Top 5 finish of the season and a team-leading fifth finish inside the Top 15.
There will not be live scoring for Monday's event. The team scores will be updated after the first 18 holes of action and then the final results will be posted after the second round of 18 holes. Fans can check for the final stats via the link here.
