Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville men's soccer team rebounded from last weekend's loss at Kentucky on Saturday night in Cardinal Park with a 3-1 win over defending NAIA National Champion Lindsey Wilson. It was just the second spring match for the Cards, who are now 1-1 this spring.
Shortly after kickoff, Louisville forced a turnover in the Blue Raiders' end and had a chance with Ryan Smith's darting run down the left side. A little later Michael Roman got the Cards on the board first, finishing a cross from the left side.
Smith put the Cards up 2-0 with a chip over Lindsey Wilson keeper Yuta Nomura. Louisville held on to the 2-0 lead at the break.
Lindsey Wilson would answer with their lone goal in the second half when freshman Tom Moody volleyed it home on a cross from the right side. Louisville forward Will Vitalis put the finishing touches on the match with a header to give Louisville a 3-1 lead.
Louisville will travel to Chicago for a match against Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire Saturday, April 7th at 10:00 a.m.
