The University of Louisville women's tennis team will complete its three-game home stand before hitting the road to face Akron as the Cardinals will play host to Furman this Saturday, February 11. The match is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Cardinals (2-3 overall) are coming off a 5-2 loss to #40 Purdue this past Sunday. In singles competition the Cards' lone victory came from sophomore Rebecca Shine at No. 1 singles. In doubles competition, senior Amelia Harris and freshman Manuela Velasquez led the Cards to an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles. The loss was the Cards' first defeat at home this season.
The Cardinals are looking to bounce back against the Furman Paladins (1-3 overall). Furman, ranked #74 in the intercollegiate tennis association rankings, has lost two straight, including last week's 7-0 home loss versus #14 Clemson.
