LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville baseball program has announced dates and details for the 2013 Winter Camps.
Led by seventh year head coach Dan McDonnell, the Cardinals will host hitting camps on Jan. 12 and Jan. 20 and will host pitching/catching/infielder camps on Jan. 13 and Jan. 19. All camps will be conducted at Jim Patterson Stadium as well as indoor facilities on campus. Camps are open to anyone in grades 1-12 and every camper will receive lunch and a camp T-shirt at each session.
Camp Information
- Session 1 - Hitting Camp - Cost $100
- Saturday, Jan. 12 - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Session 2 - Pitcher/Catcher/Infielder Specialty Camp - Cost $100
- Sunday, Jan.13 - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Session 3 - Pitcher/Catcher/Infielder Specialty Camp - Cost $100
- Saturday, Jan. 19 - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Session 4 - Hitting Camp - Cost $100
- Sunday, Jan. 20 - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A $25 late fee will be charged for any walk up. Any camper attending multiple camps will receive a $25 discount off each additional session.
About Louisville Baseball
Louisville, which won its third BIG EAST regular season title in the last four seasons in 2012, is led by the return of seven of its school record 10 All-BIG EAST performers from last season, including second team outfielders Adam Engel and Cole Sturgeon. Most of the Cardinals' pitching staff returns for 2013, led by BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and Freshman All-American right-hander Jared Ruxer.
Overall, Louisville returns 21 letterwinners from the 2012 team, which finished 41-22 and advanced to an NCAA Regional for the fifth time in six seasons.
Head coach Dan McDonnell enters his seventh season leading the Louisville baseball program. In his six previous seasons, McDonnell is 258-122 with three BIG EAST regular-season titles, two BIG EAST Tournament titles, five NCAA Regional berths, two NCAA Super Regional appearances and one College World Series berth.
