
Lola Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Senior Lola Arslanbekova of No. 17 Louisville was named BIG EAST volleyball Player of the Week for the third time this season, leading the Cardinals to a 2-0 week with wins over Seton Hall and Rutgers. Freshman Silvi Uattara of Syracuse received her second BIG EAST Freshman of the Week award.
Arslanbekova led the conference with an average of 6.17 kills per set during the week and also recorded 3.67 digs per set. The senior registered 17 kills and eight digs in a 3-0 win against Seton Hall on Oct. 6. The following day, she tallied 20 kills with a .349 hitting percentage and added 14 digs for the double-double en route to a 3-0 win against Rutgers. In that match, Arlsanbekova became the all-time kill leader in Louisville history.
Uattara was second in the conference behind Arslanbekova with an average of 5.00 kills per set. She tied a career-high on Oct. 5 with 25 kills and added eight digs as the Orange defeated USF, 3-2. The freshman followed that up with a 15-kill, 6-dig performance versus Pittsburgh on Oct. 7.
