
Andrew Farrell Named BIG EAST Defender of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville defender Andrew Farrell was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. It is the second honor this season for Farrell.
Farrell helped anchor the Cardinals defense in a 1-0-1 week, helping Louisville remain unbeaten against two Top-15 teams. Despite playing a man down in the final 18 minutes of the overtime periods against No. 12/8 Indiana, Farrell and the defense held the Hoosiers without a shot on goal. The Louisville defense also held No. 10/18 St. John's without a shot on goal in the final eight minutes of the league game for a 1-0 win.
Sophomore Will Vitalis earned BIG EAST honorable mention honors for the week. Vitalis scored twice for the Cards, scoring the first goal in a 2-2 double-overtime draw against No. 12/8 Indiana before scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 win against No. 10/18 St. John's.
