
Volleyball to Face Intrastate Rival Kentucky

The University of Louisville volleyball team faces its instate rival, Kentucky, Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum.
Louisville puts its a 5-1 record on the line after winning last weekend's Crowne Plaza Cardinal Classic with wins over Ole Miss, Eastern Illinois and Wichita State. The U of L offensive arsenal is led by Lola Arslanbekova's 4.71 kills per set. Louisville averages 13.62 kills per set while limiting opponents to 9.43 kills per set.
Louisville leads the series with UK with a 24-23 mark. The two teams have split their last two meetings,with the home team winning. Both matches have gone a nail-biting five sets.
Kentucky (5-2) won the Kentucky Classic with wins over Western Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia Tech in three sweeps. The Cats were led by Stephanie Klefott who was named most valuable player, averaging 5.25 digs per set in the three matches.
The match will air live on Fox Sports South in the states of Kentucky and North Carolina with Dick Gabriel and Kathy DeBoer calling the action.
