
Men's Soccer Adds Four to the 2011 Roster

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville head coach Ken Lolla has announced the addition of four players to the 2011 Cardinal roster. Mountan Mitchell from Punahou School in Honolulu,Hawaii, and three transfers in Kegan Harkenrider (University of Denver), Richard Osterloh (Mars Hill College) and Michael Roman (UCLA) will play for the Cardinals this fall.
"We are very excited about this incoming group, they will bring an excellent balance of experience and talent," said Lolla. "They will be a wonderful addition to an already experienced group."
Mitchell, a 5-10 forward from Honolulu, Hawaii, played for the Punahou where he was a part of back-to-back state championship teams. In 2011, he was a first team all-state selection at forward and was named the team's Best Offensive Player. In the state championship game this year, Mitchell recorded the first hat-trick in a state championship final since 1981. As a junior, Mitchell earned second team all-conference honors. He also, played for the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club.
Harkenrider, a 5-10 midfielder from Fort Wayne, Ind., played one season at Denver and was tabbed as one of the Top 100 Freshmen to Watch by College Soccer News. He started in 19 games and played in all 20 for the Pioneers last year. Harkenrider scored two goals and recorded one assist his freshman season. He played for Homestead High School where he was a two-time NSCAA All-American and first team all-state selection as a junior and senior. As a junior he set the school record for goals in a season with 29. Harkenrider was a member of the U18 Indiana United USSDA team along with current Cardinal Dylan Mares.
Osterloh, a 6-2 forward from Sao Paula, Brazil, had a very productive year at Mars Hill College. He led the conference with 2.56 points per game and 1.11 goals per game, which earned him 2010 South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year honors. Osterloh was also a first team All-SAC selection. He finished the year with a team-high 10 goals and dished out three assists.
Roman, a 5-11 midfielder from Oxnard, Calif., was part of the Bruins' Elite Eight team. Roman played in 30 games the last two seasons for UCLA. In his two seasons he had nine shots and one assist for the Bruins. Roman was a member of the Under-18 National Team and played with the squad in the Lisbon Tournament in 2008. He was also a member of the U-15 National team. He lettered two years at Rio Mesa High School and earned All-CIF acclaim and first team All-League honors in 2006 and 2007. He played club soccer with Real SoCal, which won national championships in 2006 and 2007. Roman also was selected to the Adidas ODP All-Star team in high school.
