
Stefanie Villajuan Named Women's Tennis Player of the Month

Women's tennis player, Stefanie Villajuan, has been named Cardinal Performer of the Month of February. The sophomore picked up two Big East Conference Wins against DePaul and Rutgers and also picked up wins against Missouri and North Texas. Three of the four wins included clinching the doubles point to give the Cards a 1-0 lead going into singles. She edged out Becca Shine by.5 point and Julia Fellerhoff by one point back.
"Cardinal Performer of the Month is decided with each player is competing against one another to see who can win the most points each month," said U of L head coach Mark Beckham. "Points are awarded for singles and doubles wins. Players can also pick up points each week by earning practice player of the week and weight room performer of the week. Players are also awarded points for clinching matches and being the most energetic during matches."
