Dylan Mares Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Freshman Dylan Mares was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. Mares earns the honor for the first time this season and becomes the third Louisville player to earn BIG EAST weekly honors.
Mares scored the Cardinals' game-winner in the BIG EAST season opener at Providence. In the 76th minute, Mares took a through ball from Aaron Horton and scored with his right foot from 10 yards out to give the Cardinals the lead for good. Mares score helped keep Louisville unbeaten on the season. He currently leads the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points.
