
Men's Soccer Begins Season at the Duke Nike Classic

Louisville, Ky. - The 20th ranked Louisville men's soccer team will open up the regular season against No. 11 Duke University on Friday evening in Durham, N.C. at 7:30 p.m. The game will be part of the Third Annual Duke Nike Classic, also featuring North Carolina State and Sacramento State.
Head coach Ken Lolla takes his deepest Cardinal squad back to his alma mater for the weekend. Louisville returns its top scorers from last season, All-American Colin Rolfe (10 goals, 22 points) and senior Mark Knight (7 goals, 6 assists, 20 points). Junior keeper Andre Boudreaux is coming off a record season with 13 shutouts and a 0.67 goals against average.
The Blue Devils ended last season with a 14-7-0 overall record and a 4-4-0 ACC record. Duke returns their top goal scorer and point leader in Ryan Finley, who finished with 11 goals, five assists and 27 points, and leading assist man Cole Grossman (8 goals, 10 assists, 26 points).
The series is tied 1-1 between Louisville and Duke. The Cardinals won the last meeting 1-0 on Nov. 23, 2007 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
